Finding The Perfect Wedding Hairstyle
Some brides know exactly what hairstyle they want to wear on their wedding day, and some brides haven't got the foggiest idea of where to even start looking.
Either way we will help you choose the perfect hairstyle and give you advice on how to ensure your hairdresser understands what you want.
Do Some Hair Research
At least six months before your wedding day, start saving pictures of hairstyles you like in a scrap book, large envelope or a dedicated folder.
If you have already bought wedding magazines, cut out photographs of the hairstyles you like and save in the scrap book, however it is not worth buying magazines unless there is a specific feature on wedding hairstyles, as magazines usually focus more on bridal gowns than on hairstyles.
There are lots of books with detailed photographs of wedding hairstyles available to suit all budgets. Although you may think buying a book is alot more expensive than a wedding magazine, you are more likely to find a hairstyle you like in the book and your hairdresser will be able to see the detail you want.
You can also view an image of yourself with lots of different hairstyles to help you decide on the hairstyle that will suit you. The price of such a service is very reasonable considering you can view yourself with thousands of different hairstyles, including wedding updo's, romantic down curls, short hair cuts or drastic hair colour changes. You will need a digital photo of yourself and hey presto once you have registered you can try as many hairstyles as you like. Try out the demo at the bottom of the page or click on the link below.
Booking A Hairdresser
Use a hairdresser you trust or ask someone to recommend one
Book a trial hair appointment at least 4 weeks before the big day
Book an appointment for the wedding day when you book the trial so you don't forget
Book your bridesmaids appointments with different stylists for the same time as your appointments
Discuss The Hairstyle With Your Stylist
Bring your scrap book with lots of pictures to give your hairdresser an idea of the look and style you want
Descibe in detail what you want
Ask will the style suit your hair and face
Most likely you want the hairstyle to stay in place all day - but mention this to the hairdresser anyway
Upstyles
Wash your hair the day before the trial and similarly the day before your wedding as upstyles won't hold well if your hair is freshly washed
Hair Accessories
Bring your veil or any hair accessories and discuss with the hairdresser
